Pumpkin overload. I love pumpkin as much as the next person but I think the latest issue of Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer pumpkins off the chart with too many pumpkin products. I don’t know if everyone has the same issue, perhaps it depends on state or region.
Here’s what is in the October issue:
Pumpkin bread mix – still $2.99 – I will probably end up buying a box or two. It’s so homey although I never bake but maybe I will feel like baking when the weather cools down (still in 90s in Tucson!)
Pilgrim Joe’s pumpkin ice cream – $3.99/quart – That sounds yummy. If I’m going to splurge on ice cream, this might be it.
Honey roasted pumpkin ravioli – $3.49/9 oz bag – sounds marvelously decadent – no wonder I gain weight around this time of the year.
Pumpkin cream cheese – $2.99/7-oz tub – I’m not a fan of cream cheese but maybe I could be if it is pumpkin flavored. Recommended as an excellent dip for pretzels and ginger cookies. Oh my!
Country pumpkin spice granola – $2.49/16 oz – Homey & yummy
Nonfat Greek pumpkin yogurt – $1.29
Pumpkin spice Rooibos tea – $3.99 – combined with natural pumpkin flavor, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
Pumpkin macarons – $4.99/ – 4.6 oz – French style
Organic canned pumpkin – $1.99/15-oz. – this is the best – I mix it with Greek yogurt – then add ground flax seed
Pumpkin butter – $2.29/10-oz jar – FAT FREE! Beware you may eat the whole jar in one or two sittings, only a spoon is required
Pumpkin soup – $1.79/17.6-oz – Of all the products, the soup does not appeal to me.
Pumpkin pancake & waffle mix – $2.99/21.2-oz box – made especially for Trader Joe’s
Pumpkin spice chai tea latte mix – $3.99/10-oz canister
Pumpkin pie spice – $1.99/1.8-oz jar
Pumpkin chocolate mousse cake – $6.99/15.5 oz – 6 layers of chocolate cake & pumpkin mousse, I’m going to faint now!
Pumpkin cheesecake – $6.99/30-oz – Lucky for me I don’t like cheesecake – even with pumpkin
Pumpkin spice cake – $4.99/16-oz ring shaped cake – ample amounts of ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon. Ah!
Pumpkin on a stick – $6.99/bunch - Grown your own pumpkins. Sounds like too much work.
Pumpkin flavored dog treats – $3.49/16-oz box – their canine taste testers drooled. My dogs love pumpkin as I sometimes share the organic canned pumpkin with them
Kennebunkport Brewing Co. pumpkin ale – $5.99 / 6pk of 12-oz bottles – pale ale with hints of pumpkin, cinnamon, & nutmeg – I could get be thirsty right about now
Great pumpkins – $2.99/each
This Pumpkin Walks into a Bar – $1.99/package of 6 – Wins the prize for best named product! Breakfast cereal bar made with pumpkin & spices – a scoop of ice cream always makes a nice addition. Yes, even for breakfast.
Lastly,
Pumpkin spice coffee – (ground) – $7.99/14 oz. can – medium dark Vienna-style roast (the most caffeine) spiked with pumpkin pie spices -
What are your pumpkin-y favorites?
I guess you will have to wait until Thanksgiving for the pumpkin pie.
