Forever Popular Julia Child

Today, August 15, 2012, is the 100th anniversary of Julia Child’s birth.

Julia Child is the reason we have the Food Network today. She showed us how to cook. She showed us how to cook with butter and cream and to make vegetables friendly. Julia had absolutely no attitude. She even showed up how that if we accidently dropped an ingredient or some food on the floor, it was OK to pick it up and keep using it. Maybe that’s where the 10 second rule came from?

Today Arizona Public Media is celebrating her life and the radio segment is funny and touching. Julia wasn’t only a wonderful cook & teacher but she was also a spy. Her life is so much better than most fiction.

Albert Hall will prepare Julia’s recipe for chicken with 40 cloves of garlic. He actually met her at her home in Montecito.
