Tucson Father’s Day Ideas

The press release machine churned greatly this year for Father’s Day happenings. Here are a few that don’t require reservations:

Blues & BBQ

No reservations needed
Menu items include: oysters on the half-shell, peel & eat shrimp, hush puppies, gumbo, BBQ chicken, pork ribs, smoked jumbo shrimp, etc.

All Day Happy Hour – starting at noon
RA Sushi – Tucson + Scottsdale locations
@ La Encantada – 2905 E. Skyline Dr.
Let dad chow down on more than 30 sushi, appetizer, and tapas items ranging from $2.25 to $7.25, plus a wide variety of beer, wine, sake, and signature cocktails ranging from $3 to $7. Don’t forget to treat dad to a beer, such as a Sapporo or Stella Artois or a Kirin paired with hot sake. If cocktails are more his style, go for the Emperor’s Margarita or Dragon Bite.

Now there’s a 4-letter word dads can sink their teeth into. Men like pork. Here’s what’s on the menu that day:
Huevos rancheros with chorizo~ brunch only; pork osso buco; sliced Cuban-style marinated pork on a bun; bacon-wrapped sea scallops; and for dessert, maple-bacon ice cream

Stop in for some awesome specials served all day: full rack of ribs + 2 sides – $15.95; beer braised brats (wurst) + 1 side – $7.95; Dad’s first Nimbus draft or soft drink for only 25cents.

Chef Ryan Clark reprises his popular and yummy $14/pp MacDaddy ribs with grilled corn & potato salad. It’s a comfort food type of meal in a casual setting for both lunch and dinner + $3 local draft beers all day long.

The Treasure of Sierra Madre
Loft Cinema

This movie is one of the best adventure films every made without a bunch of digital special effects. Think Humphrey Bogart and Walter Huston, old Hollywood he-men at their finest. Great popcorn, beers, and the best snack bar around + raffle prizes. Buy dad a Loft membership too if he doesn’t already have one.

Free Wine Tasting – June 16 only

Taste 5 wines + 1 beer. Dad’s tasting is free when accompanied by a child (21+). Be sure to pick up some wines for BBQ-ing or toasting on his special day and beyond.
